About LIXIAN
Education planning begins with understanding the learning environment a student needs, rather than deciding on a school list first. Our name reflects that approach.
The origin of our name
The Mencius, Li Lou II, section 20, contains the phrase 湯執中，立賢無方. We draw educational inspiration from 立賢無方 in recognising different strengths. This is a modern application of the idea, not a literal translation of the classical passage.
Not one ruler for every child. Not one path for every future.
Understanding the student
Grades matter in our assessment, but they are not the only evidence. We also consider the current curriculum, study habits, communication, interests and the student’s own thoughts about Hong Kong. Intended timing and the family’s living arrangements are part of the discussion.
Consider a hypothetical pair of students with similar grades: one values continuity in a familiar curriculum, while the other wants to explore different subjects. Their goals need to be understood before a school recommendation is made.
Explaining recommendations
We compare the assessment with curricula, learning expectations and family circumstances. At the school-selection stage, recommendations explain why each option is worth considering, the preparation still needed and requirements to verify.
The family can question that advice and revise its goals. Our role is to provide analysis and preparation support, not make the final decision for parents or students.
Authentic expression
The student’s experiences and interests provide the starting point for a distinctive application. We work on response structure, relevant content and practice, helping students explain their strengths in their own words and connect them with their intended school or course.
One consistent name
LIXIAN Education retains the pinyin of 立賢教育. Across our communications, the starting point remains the same: understand the student, then plan the next step.
